Beschreibung

The programme provides in-depth knowledge and understanding of advanced chemical engineering. Its particular focus is on R & D practice and modern industrial production processes. The students will be trained to define and solve challenging engineering problems by using innovative experimental and computational techniques. The programme is also meant to enhance the students' ability to take part in real industrial projects. At the same time the students are stimulated to develop an awareness of the social and environmental implications of technology.
Gerichtet an: Career Opportunities. Chemical engineers have excellent career opportunities not only in classical fields like the chemical and petrochemical industry, but also in food, pharmaceutical, automotive and other industries. Potential professional assignments consist of working in industrial and academic R & D, planning, construction, production, sale and distribution, quality management, and organisation.

· Voraussetzungen

Students should have profound theoretical knowledge in Chemical Engineering, Higher Mathematics, and Natural Sciences. Broad knowledge has to be proven in Mechanics, Materials and Corrosion, Chemistry, Mathematics, Thermodynamics, Numerical Methods and Programming. Furthermore basic knowledge is required in Chemical Process Engineering, Mechanical Process Engineering, Thermal Process Engineering and Chemical Process Design.

Themenkreis

Structure of the Programme
This programme offers a unique blend of research and educational opportunities. The courses are divided into a compulsory group and an elective group. The compulsory group covers fundamental courses in Chemical Engineering. In the elective group the candidate can choose to specialise in one of the following seven disciplines: Mechanical Process Engineering, Thermal Process Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Power Generation and Heat Transfer, Environmental Protection Processes, Process Systems Engineering. In addition to classroom studies, practical experience will be gained from a two month industrial internship. Candidates are required to complete both a student project and a Master thesis which may involve a lab project, theoretical work or a critical review on an advanced engineering topic. The student project can be completed in parallel to the course work.
