Getting Data is a 1-day course in which participants learn how to handle various types of databases and use web scraping techniques to import data from the internet. It is estimated that up to 80% of the time spent on statistical projects is used for data acquisition and -import. We will show how to avoid the "garbage-in-garbage-out" trap and methods of maintaining high quality data throughout the import process.
