Information Technology (INFOTECH) M.Sc. - auf Englisch

Key areas of Information Technology are reflected in 4 specializations:

• Communication Engineering and Media Technology
• Embedded Systems
• Micro- and Optoelectronics
• Computer Hardware/Software Engineering

All specializations share a common program structure, a set of common lecture modules (including non-technical and key qualification modules), seminars and lab courses. Study advisors support students in their selection of modules based on their academic history and selected specialization. After 3 terms of study and one term for a Master Thesis, students are attributed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Information Technology.

Scientific orientation is not meant to be acquired in an ‘ivory tower’. Research at the institutes supporting the program has a focus on value for the engineering society, national and EU-funded research programs as well as cooperative programs with the leading industries of the world in their sector. Practical/scientific engineering can be exercised through many components of the program such as study project modules, lab courses, and the Master Thesis Project. As a consequence of the high demand for admission as well as the strin- gent scientific approach of the program, admission is highly competitive. As all Master programs, this degree allows for pursuing a dissertation or further habilitation. For non-EU nationals it is the key for a work permit.
