Innovation and Business Creation

Learning Modules

You will spend about sixty days in five learning modules in which lecturers from TUM Business School, HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management and international partner universities will provide you with a sound theoretical framework for practical understanding of innovation and business creation. Each module will be completed with an examination. You will use the input from the learning modules throughout the project modules and in your future career.

You will experience:
-Presentations and subsequent informal discussions with faculty, innovators and entrepreneurs
-Real case studies and problem-solving tasks in small groups
-Negotiations, debates and role plays
-Talks with visiting executives and serial entrepreneurs

Project Modules

As a corporate innovator the project goals are individually defined by you, your company and UnternehmerTUM. As an entrepreneur the projects directly address the biggest challenges you are facing in the start-up and growth phase of your company.

In three project modules all program participants will develop prototypes for new products and services with an innovation team, prepare the market launch and develop an appropriate organizational structure for the new venture. You will spend thirty weeks in project work during the executive program. Every project module starts with a two day on campus kick-off session and ends with a wrap-up session.

You will develop:
-Evaluated prototypes
-Tools for operational excellence and customer orientation
-Skills needed for teamwork and leadership
-New business models

Master Thesis

In your master thesis you will summarize, reflect on and extend insights and experiences from the innovation and business creation projects. Based on project reviews and personal feedback, you will deepen your self-understanding, expand your personal strengths, increase your leadership capacity and define your next goals as an innovator or entrepreneur.
