Das Beste I enrolled in this course having some familiarity with Linux but not much. Like many others I had high hopes for this course. This course consists of just under 20 "chapters" covering the various aspects of Linux. However calling them chapters is a stretch. They could each probably be fit on less than 2 pages of paper. After going through the first few chapters I realized this course was very simple and almost unnecessary. For example, they had multiple videos on how to change the desktop background. (Hint: It's basically the same process as a windows computer.) The only graded work in the whole MOOC is the 30 question final exam. After the 4th "chapter" I decided to just skip to the exam because I couldn't stand the course. I passed rather easily despite not knowing anything about Linux servers or bash scripting. Overall I am disappointed in the course. I was expecting it to be challenging and much more in-depth. (That' not to say you wouldn't learn anything from it if you do take it.) In addition given that the verified certificate is $250, it appears that this course is more about making money than really teaching people. I am somewhat disappointed in edX for even offering it given their normal standard for a course.

Das Beste Even though the course might seem shallow, it covers a wide variety of topics. Sometimes it is scratching important stuff while it is explaining stuff, like vim, in way too much detail, which probably is a useful text editor for some, but it's complexity would require a whole separate course and certification. The scripted, and made just like the original environment pages, that help you type in exercises, are a nice touch, but not the most user friendlier things I have ever seen. Oh, and those intro videos at each chapter... the cameraman should be punished for it! :P

Zu verbessern Nothing bad.
