Official Undergraduate Degree in Product Design - IED Barcelona

Product designers come up with all kinds of different objects. Their role is to understandand foresee market demands and translate them into a specific project that can be industrially produced.

The first year centres on acquiring basic concepts in design, project culture and methodology, key to laying the foundations for working in a multidisciplinary approach. In the second year, students increase their technical, cultural and project knowledge and expertise and start to specialise in their chosen area. In the third year they concentrate on their specialist area and in the fourth year they produce their thesis project, which should open doors for them into the business world, together with in-company work experience.

Job opportunities include: automotive accessories, street furniture, materials research,3D modelling, packaging, etc.

This course is in the process of being recognised by the Catalan and Spanish governments as a Degree in Product Design.
