This module gives students the opportunity to develop their knowledge of post anaesthetic care and enhance their skills of analysing key concepts of care following anaesthesia.WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?

On successful completion of this module you should be able to:
- Identify specific therapeutic interventions for the successful management of patients experiencing the post anaesthetic phase of care.
- Understand the potential complications and subsequent management related to the post anaesthetic phase of care.
- Effectively assess, monitor and manage patients in the post anaesthetic phase of care.
- Identify specific pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions used in the management of patients experiencing the post anaesthetic phase of care.
- Critically analyse the evidence base for post-anaesthetic practices, protocols and interventions.
This course will be delivered through a series of lectures, seminars, presentations, discussions, tutorials and a clinical placement, which will be led by module leader and clinical practitioners.
Spring term: Tuesdays 1pm - 4pm.
Induction will take place on the first day of each module (excluding Mentoring).
