This module will build upon the knowledge gained from the M17CPD module (Public Health and Health Development) and aims to examine the policy context in which public health is currently practiced in both developed and developing countries. The module is designed to be appropriate for people who wish to enhance their specialist knowledge of public health or simply want to improve their general knowledge within the field.WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?

On successful completion of this module you should be able to:
- Understand the current context of public health policy, identifying the significance of recent trends within the field, such as the rediscovery of inequalities in health.
- Assess the importance of context for public health and identify the differences between working in a developing country and working in a developed country context.
- Identify public health evidence and its contribution to the formation of public health policies.
- Learn how to plan public health programme, identifying key objectives and defining appropriate ways of achievement.
Summer term: Tuesdays 1pm - 4pm.
Induction will take place on the first day of each module (excluding Mentoring).
