In this course you will learn about the most important technical and economic aspects of solar cooling technology. You will find out about the operation of different cooling techniques using solar energy and will be able to distinguish between them. The broad outlines of technical design and installation of solar cooling systems are described - including the collector field - as well as strategies to optimize the cooling effect. You will also see how solar cooling can be integrated into existing refrigeration systems. Real life case studies will be used to show which applications solar cooling is particularly suitable for. During the course we also examine the investment and operating costs of typical applications and you will learn how to calculate cooling costs.
