WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile Collective and Cluster Administration

This course describes the Liberty profile concepts of a collective, a collective controller, and a Liberty cluster. It describes each step in creating a basic collective that consists of a collective controller and one Liberty profile server. You learn how to enable the admin center feature for the collective controller, and how to manage a collective by using the web browser-based Admin Center. You also learn how to add more collective members and create a Liberty cluster. Once the cluster is configured; you learn how to deploy applications to the cluster by using Jython scripts that are available from the Liberty Repository. Finally, you learn how to configure a highly available controller topology.

Most of the configuration in this course uses the server command and the collective command. In particular, the collective create command is used to generate the administrative domain security configuration. Other collective commands are used to join Liberty servers as members to the collective, and to replicate collective controllers.

In addition to using Jython scripts, you learn how to use the JConsole tool to invoke cluster operations on the ClusterManager MBean.
