Self-paced virtual classroom (SPVC) courses provide the same deep technical content as WebSphere Education classroom courses, but allow you to learn on your own schedule. You can stop and start a self-paced virtual class as needed during the 30-day access period.

There is no live instructor for this course, so it might not be appropriate for students who require the guidance of a live instructor.

This 5-hour, self-paced course teaches students how to use WebSphere Default Messaging and the service integration Bus (SIBus) to build configurations focused on Java Message Service (JMS) messaging applications and resources. Students also learn how to configure the SIBus for high availability and workload management (WLM).

The course begins with an overview of WebSphere Application Server V7 runtime basics. Students then learn about various message producer and consumer scenarios and best practices using WebSphere Messaging, as well as several complex SIBus topologies. Students also learn about the improvements made to default messaging in WebSphere V7 and how to secure a SIBus and its client.

Demonstrations provided throughout the course enable students to explore and work with various messaging scenarios. Topics covered in the demonstrations include workload management in a singe messaging engine (ME) topology, message producer store-and-forward behavior, connection targeting for message consumers, and secured SIBus configurations.

If you are enrolling in a Self Paced Virtual Classroom or Web Based Training course, before you enroll, please review the Self-Paced Virtual Classes and Web-Based Training Classes on our Terms and Conditions page, as well as the system requirements, to ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for this course.
