Previous programming experience isn't a requirement, but applicants with a technical background - be it traditional computer degrees, having worked as a product owner or project managers - are often at an advantage. However, more important than a traditional background is a demonstrated interest in web development. Applicants who have explored the subject matter through online courses or meet-ups are best positioned to convince us that they want to join School, and have proven to themselves that it’s a right fit.

Over the course of this 6 month, full-time program - based in the heart of San Francisco's tech community in Galvanize's SoMa campus - students learn how to build and maintain a series of web applications using modern technologies and industry best practices (including Cloud Foundry and IBM's Blue Mix). Our program is twice as long as the typical developer training program because we do more than just teach students how to write code: we aggressively prepare them to become contributing members of a software team. After six months of gSchool, you'll be able to ace any technical interview and jump right into a development job.
