This course teaches the skills necessary to code, test, and debug efficient and maintainable programs written in the COBOL Language. It teaches the elements of the language with strong emphasis on techniques and strategies which would facilitate

future maintenance of the source programs. The material includes both basic and advanced programming instructions and concepts using the COBOL language.

PRODUCT: This instructional material has been designed for use with IBM COBOL (ANSI 1985 extended standard), but could be t/08/ht in setting that employs IBM VS/COBOL II (ANSI 1985 or COBOL 74) , wherein the syntactical differences would be identified by the instructor.
