Inhalte
Emerging artists often have a lot of questions regarding the funding and distribution of a project: How can I finance my project? How do I apply for public funding? How do I „sell“ it to programmers or find a co-producer? This three-day course will supply information and help answer these questions.
The course starts with an overview of possibilities of cultural funding in the field of performing arts in Germany. The participants will be given the chance to discuss options in building a professional network using previous experiences. The topic of “co-producing in Europe” will be discussed either with an expert guest (artist or arts manager) or while visiting a local studio theatre.
Application writing will be the focus of Day Two. A good project description, an abstract and a coherent financial plan are essential for a successful application. Day Three will be dedicated to the distribution and touring of work: how to contact programmers, what kind of material they are interested in and how to calculate the required fee.Contents
Day 1:
• Basics: types of cultural funding (for performing arts) in Germany
• Suggestions on how to build a personal network
• Co-Producing with European partners
Day 2:

Day 3:
• Touring: communication, information material, fee, negotiation
