Nursing Science

The masters course of Nursing Science is a part-time further vocational education course generally leading to the academic degree of Master of Science after 4 years (corresponding to a two-year full-time course).

Modules

a) General Modules

• Philosophy and science
• Research methodology and technique
• Theory and classification development
• Decision-making processes
• Presentation and transfer of research findings

b) Specific Modules

• Evidence based nursing practice
• Nursing phenomena and interventions
• Nursing quality and outcomes
• Comparison of European health care systems
• Nursing culture in Europe

c) Compulsory Module Choice

These modules are not offered in the Department of the Education of Nurse and Paramedic Teachers and Nursing Science. They can be completed at domestic or foreign universities. They enable the student to create his/her personal emphasis. Compulsory module choice refers to the care of a specific target group such as elderly people, people with chronic diseases, intensive care patients, out-patient care or certain groups like diabetes patients or mentally disabled persons or general nursing-related subjects as health care computing science, trans-cultural health care, history of nursing, patient instruction and advice.

Application Procedure

Applications can be made between 1st June to 15th July inclusive each year.

Confirmation of admission is given in August.

A maximum of 24 students is admitted each year.

The course starts annually with the beginning of the winter term (mid October).
