The Master’s Degree in Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship offered by the UIC is a professional programme that will teach you to how to initiate and manage projects in start-ups, SMEs and large companies. We will learn how projects work in different sectors, from highly technological to traditional.

In addition, during one week the students will study in Boston and New York, where they will visit some of the innovative systems in the world and visit top universities such as Harvard, MIT, Babson College and Columbia University. They will also visit companies and relevant platforms for entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.

Classes will be taught on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Classes will be taught in English mainly, and also in Spanish.

This is a professional programme that provides resources and tools to create and manage innovative, technology-based companies.
UIC has prepared an interdisciplinary programme designed for participants with a variety of academic backgrounds that covers several outlets.
The course is taught using a highly practical methodology based on case studies and management tools.

Master's degree in Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship is aimed at people who want to pursue a career in consulting, academia, politics and research in innovation and technology-based companies.

The course is aimed at university graduates from any academic field. Those who have not taken company-related studies will have to take the Business Immersion Program.

As well as meeting the admission requirements, the Admissions Committee will also assess applications based on the suitability of previous study, and students’ average marks for previous education. Other qualifications and years of experience will also be taken into account.

•Innovation: Managers of R+D departments. Managers of innovation centers. Leaders of innovative teams. Managers of innovation and change in existing companies. Technology transfer managers.
•Business development: heads of new lines of business, new divisions or spin-offs of existing companies. Promoters of new business.
•Entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship: promoters to set up new companies. Entrepreneurial businessperson. A creator of new business within existing companies.
•Business innovation, business creation or as an innovative processes consultant.
•In the Financial sector: financial analysts who evaluate business proposals or launch programmes to support companies.
•In the Public sector: innovation facilitators in public organisations.
•Academia: an academic career as a lecturer or researcher.
•Third sector: professionals who would like to become entrepreneurs, innovators or social facilitators within their organizations, whether these are private, non-profit or government owned.

Choosing a track

  • Impact Track: Social entrepreneurship, green entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, sustainability.
  • Research track: Research methods, entrepreneurial techniques and theories, technology and innovation.

Final project
The final part of the programme involves accommodating one of the three options below:
• Business plan: a business start-up project which allows students to explore the process of identifying an opportunity and putting it into practice.
• An in-company project: students can undertake their project in the company where they work or where they
are doing a work placement.
• Thesis project: a research project which allows participants to choose a topic or field for research.
A tutor will be provided and the student will defend their project once the programme is over before a jury consisting of university professors.
Work placement in a company (optional)

Undertaking a work placement in an innovative, technological or start-up company in Barcelona in which academic content is taught that is in line with a master’s level programme.
