Intensiv-Workshop zur Verbesserung Ihrer Verhandlungsfertigkeiten
Life at the law office presents a barrage of negotiating challenges: lawyers constantly have to negotiate the appropriate schedules and deadlines for a project, to agree on a budget, to mediate a dispute, to employ staff and set their salaries, and to settle on the cost of required products and services for the law office.
In this workshop, you will first find out your style of negotiating, whether you are more a carp or a shark or preferably a dolphin. The first two types have limited options, as the most important characteristic of an effective negotiator is flexibility. The carp tends to maintain the status quo; the shark wants to win at all costs, focusing on the kill regardless of the long-term cost.
Here you will acquire the style of the dolphin, flexible in thought and personality, adapting strategies and tactics to the species you are swimming with - carp, sharks or other dolphins. As a dolphin your world of options is infinite. You cooperate as long as your counterpart is cooperative. However, you quickly regain control when you encounter a shark-like move. A strategy you are using does not work? As a dolphin you deploy alternatives.
What are the dolphin strategies and tactics you will acquire in this workshop? In “active listening to find out” sessions you will focus on the partner’s intentions and aims, on the innuendos and nuances behind the mask, on the willingness to make concessions. You will instrumentalize open-ended questions when trying to build a relationship and gain information. You will gain in confidence by practising these and many other strategies – in English.
