Global Patent Litigation - SEPs and FRAND licencing in Europe, China and the US

Litigating Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) has become
a hot topic in all major jurisdictions around the
globe. Nowadays, due to the increasing importance of
the Internet of things (IoT), networking and wireless
communication (including connected cars, the smart
home, Industry 4.0 and smart metering), it affects not
only telecoms but also many other industries such as
the automotive industry, the life sciences and consumer
products.


However, national courts frequently handle specific
issues related to SEP litigation very differently. Cases
in point are how to deal with legal remedies (such as
injunctive relief and damages), what is required of a
patentee to successfully assert an SEP and how a fair,
