This is an intermediate course for anyone who is responsible for installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Linux on IBM Power Systems.
Kursziele

• Describe the environment(s) that Linux runs on for POWER technology-based systems
• Utilize the Open Firmware environment to boot the system over a selected network device
• Install a given Linux distribution within a Logical Partition
• Locate and utilize IBM Reliability Availability and Serviceability (RAS) packages
• Describe the SELinux access control environment
• Administer a Virtual Network Computing server under Linux
• Configure Logical Volume Management option
• Describe the various file systems available on both the SUSE and Red Hat Linux distributions
• Access Rescue Mode on a Linux distribution
• Customize the configuration of the Yaboot boot loader
• Describe the architecture of how the Virtual I/O Server software is implemented and how it communicates with its clients
• Configure, recompile, and install the Linux kernel
• Perform basic performance monitoring tasks
• Configure system dump facility
• Troubleshoot installation and configuration issues
