- Administer a Virtual Network Computing server under Linux
- Configure Logical Volume Management option
- Describe the various file systems available on both the SUSE and Red Hat Linux distributions
- Access Rescue Mode on a Linux distribution
- Customize the configuration of the Yaboot boot loader
- Describe the architecture of how the Virtual I/O Server software is implemented and how it communicates with its clients
- Configure, recompile, and install the Linux kernel
- Perform basic performance monitoring tasks
- Configure system dump facility
- Troubleshoot installation and configuration issues

This course is designed to teach the installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux on IBM Power Systems. Class activities include installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Linux in either a native or partitioned and virtualized Power sSstem environment.
