The participants must have
- a Diploma (University or Fachhochschule) degree, or
- a Bachelors or an equivalent degree
in the field of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology or Biology or Biotechnology or Engineering with additional knowledge in the environmental field or in chemistry. Other studies can be admitted on demand, if the Programme Management Board is convinced that the candidate has sufficient knowledge in chemistry and/or engineering

Course Information
This programme is a one year European Masters course in Environmental Technology and Management, suitable for graduates with qualifications in Chemistry, Chemical Technology/Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology or similar areas.
Aims of the Masters Programme
This programme aims to provide:
• an understanding of environmental problems,
• an understanding of industrial and political developments in Europe and world-wide in respect to environmental questions,
• basic knowledge of environmental technologies,
• chances for the participants to find jobs in international industries and in
administration/government.
Content
The course consists of 10 modules and one final project. The modules are:
1. Environmental Field: Water
2. Toxicology
3. Environmental Field: Soil
4. Energy
5. Raw Material and Waste
6. Environmental Field: Air
7. Technology, Economy, Environment and Man
8. Economy, Process –Control and Management in Industry
9. Environmental Protection and Laws in the Different Countries of Europe
10. Research and Communication Methodology
11. A final project (Master Thesis)
The course participants will work on an eight-week project, related to
environmental problems or technology. This project work can be undertaken at one of the partner institutions or in industry.

Realisation
The course will take place at three different locations within Europe:
- place I: from September to December (at present at the Aalborg
Universitet in Esbjerg, Denmark)
- place II: from January to April (at present at the Fachhochschule
Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/ Wilhemshaven (University of Applied Sciences of
Oldenburg/ Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven), Emden, Germany)
- place III: from May to September (at present at the De Montfort University,
Leicester, UK). Students normally start at place I and continue the course at place II and III. In special cases (by agreement) it is also possible to start at place I and continue at place III and finish place I.
