The master course aims to provide qualifications for entry into the professions in the area of robotics, computer vision, image processing and medical imaging either in public laboratory or private research company. Over 4 semesters (120 ECTS), the students attend three universities, where all the classes will be taught in English. An introduction to Scottish, Spanish and French culture and language will be proposed to the students. The student population will be between 30 and 40 per year. The average ratio professor/student relation is approximately 1:5. The first three semesters will successively occur in: France, University of Burgundy (antenna of Le Creusot); Spain, University of Girona and United Kigndom: Heriot-Watt University.

Voraussetzungen

Outstanding achievement in the applicant's first degree which must have equivalent to UK First Class in either electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, mathematics, robotics, physics and industrial engineering. Language ability: the course is taught in English and candidates must meet the required standards TOEFL: 550 (Computer: 213) or IELTS: 6.5 (check the equivalency table). Student motivation to undertake the Masters and relevance to his or her professional development.

Das Beste: Awarded the SNF grant by the Swiss National Science Foundation to pursue Doctoral Studies at ETH Zurich, often rated as the best technological university in continental Europe (with 21 Nobel Prize winners in it’s alumni, Albert Einstein being the most prominent of them). I've worked with several respectable researchers who are employed with ETH Zurich, Paul Scherrer Institut, Stanford University and University of Stuttgart during Doctoral and Master’s research.

Associate professor at the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Girona. Member of the Computer Vision and Robotics research group (VICOROB), working in the Underwater Robotics Research Centre (CIRS).

Rafael Garcia

Professor

Dr. Rafael Garcia is the founder and director of the Underwater Vision Lab (UVL), which is part of the Computer Vision and Robotics Group in the Department of Computer Architecture at the University of Girona (Spain). His main research interests are underwater robotics and computer vision. Dr. Garcia is particularly interested in how to make unmanned underwater vehicles sense their environment to carry out autonomous surveys of the ocean floor.

Xavier Lladó

Professor

I received the B.S. degree in Computer Science (1999) and the the PhD in Computer Engineering (2004) from the University of Girona. From 2004 until 2006, I was working as a Post-doctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Science at Queen Mary, University of London. Currently, I'm an Associate Professor in the VICOROB Group at the University of Girona. My research interests are in the fields of Image Processing, Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision. I'm a member of the IEEE
